A new debate has emerged over Bengaluru Metro fares after the revised Phase 3A DPR proposed a 12% fare hike every three years. This differs from the Fare Fixation Committee’s recommendation of a maximum 5% annual increase. If adopted, fares could rise to ₹14 minimum and Rs 126 maximum by 2033. BMRCL says the FFC recommendations will remain final.

The NHAI has raised toll charges again on the Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway, just three months after its annual revision in April. The hike applies to vehicles using the Bengaluru-Nidaghatta stretch, with car tolls rising to Rs 185. Monthly passes have also become costlier, while the local pass remains unchanged.

Police said the duo planned the crime to claim a Rs 20 lakh insurance payout and continue their relationship. Two snake charmers were also arrested for supplying the snake used in the murder.
