Kerala’s Shijin Paul, 27, died after suffering serious injuries in a gas cylinder explosion in Dubai. Originally from Pattazhy in Kottarakkara, Shijin had moved to Dubai eight months ago and worked as a videographer at The Car Super Store. Rescue teams reached the scene, treated the injured and brought the situation under control within an hour.

A 27-year-old software engineer working at Kakkanad’s Infopark, Devanand, died after the car he was travelling in crashed into a metal electric pole early Tuesday. Devanand, who was sitting in the back seat, was thrown onto the road when the rear door flew open. He suffered a severe head injury and later died at a private hospital in Ernakulam.

A Kerala family of three was found unconscious at their rented home in Pune’s Morwadi on Saturday, with police suspecting severe financial problems behind the deaths. Vinod P.S., 47, his wife Silja Pillai, 44, and daughter Poornima, 20, later died.

A 68-year-old woman, Krishnamma, died after suffering an electric shock from a microphone during a Ramayana recitation session at a temple near Thiruvallam Parasurama Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. The incident occurred around 2.30 pm while she was setting up the microphone to begin her recitation. 

The Kerala education department has dismissed a contract teacher from Maruthonkara who was arrested in an MDMA case linked to a drug gang in Vadakara. Another teacher from Koorachundu, arrested in the same case, is also expected to be dismissed. Police allege the teachers acted as middlemen, collecting payments through QR codes.
