In a major boost to farmers, the Yogi Adityanath government has raised sugarcane prices by Rs 30 per quintal for the 2025–26 crushing season, Rs 400 for early and Rs 390 for normal varieties. The hike will add ₹3,000 crore to farmers’ income.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi welcomed the ‘Charan Suhave Guru Charan (Joda Sahib) Yatra’ in Lucknow, honouring the Sikh Guru tradition. He said the Yatra revives India’s ideals of faith, renunciation, and sacrifice, shaped by the Sikh Gurus.

UP CM Yogi visited Kabirdham Ashram in Mustafabad, Lakhimpur Kheri, where he unveiled statues of Shri Kshamadevji and Shri Guruman Saheb and planted a Rudraksh tree. He said such places strengthen devotion, harmony, and selfless service.

CM Yogi announced that Mustafabad in Lakhimpur Kheri will be renamed Kabirdham during an event at the Kabirdham Ashram. He said the move restores the area’s spiritual identity lost to political appeasement. 

Ahead of the Garh Ganga Mela in Hapur, UP CM Yogi directed officials to ensure no obscene songs are played during cultural programs. He urged inclusion of folk artists and emphasized safety, cleanliness, CCTV monitoring, and emergency preparedness.

CM Yogi has approved major reform in the Public Works Department, increasing engineers' financial powers up to fivefold for the first time in 30 years. The overhaul aims to speed up project approvals, improve transparency and modernise service rules.

A parking dispute in Kasganj turned violent late Wednesday night, leading to gunfire between two groups. Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. 3 people have been arrested and the weapon used in the firing has been seized.

A 14-year-old boy from UP, was allegedly kidnapped, beaten, electrocuted, and poisoned to death by a local man, Vishambhar Tripathi, and his associates after Hrithik threw a stone at Tripathi’s dog. The victim’s family accused police of inaction.
