Legendary Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar passed away yesterday on October 29, 2021. due to a heart attack. The actor reportedly had complained of chest pain and was immediately rushed to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru. He was only 46. Soon after the sad news broke, his sea of fans, celebrity friends flooded social media to extend condolences to his grieving family. His mortal remains have been kept at Kanteerava Stadium for public view. 

Now, as per fresh reports, the state funeral of the actor will happen at 3 pm. During a media interaction Dr Ashwathnarayan C. N. current Minister of Science and Education & IT, BT of Karnataka, said, "The arrangements have been made to the fullest. Today final cremation will be done in the Kanteerava studio and the procession from here will start around 3 pm. Once the procession starts, all the people who were not being able to give the final darshan of Puneet sir will be able to take the view of the film star.  All of them will get an opportunity and probably we will reach Kanteerava studio where the cremation will happen by 6-6.30 pm. All the state honours will be given to him. Honourable CM of Karnataka will be leading the procession of his last journey and all the security measures have been taken. His daughter will be reaching by 5 pm and will be joining the procession. Yesterday we had a discussion with the family and they have agreed that cremation can be done today".

The legendary actor had done his debut as a child actor back with movies like Premada Kanike (1976), and Aarathi back in the 70s and 80s. His acting in Vasantha Geetha (1980), Bhagyavantha (1981), Chalisuva Modagalu (1982), Eradu Nakshatragalu (1983), Bhakta Prahaladha, Yarivanu and Bettada Hoovu (1985) was highly appreciated.
