Watch: Sudarsan Pattnaik celebrates Pakhala Dibasa with stunning sand artwork; awes netizens

A video of stunning sand art by Sudarsan Pattnaik on Puri beach to celebrate Pakhala Dibasa has gone viral and gained netizens' praises.

Pakhaa in Odia refers to the dish consisting of cooked rice, curd, cumin seeds, cucumber, mint leaves and fried onions, served with dry roasted vegetables such as potatoes, brinjals or fried fish.

During summers, farmers consume Pakhala to gain lost water from the body and beat the heat soothing the digestive system after toiling in the sun for long hours.

To pay tribute to Pakhala Dibasa, Sudarsan Pattnaik created a stunning artwork on Puri beach and won netizens' hearts.

Pattnaik’s sand artwork consisted of a huge plate with small bowls filled with pakhala and fried vegetables.

Pattnaik shared the video on his Twitter handle and captioned, “Greetings on #PakhalaDibasa. My sand art on Puri beach to celebrate Odisha’s most favourite wholesome meal.”

The video has garnered 3.8k views, and delighted netizens praised him for his artwork.
