Watch: Madrid receives most intense snowfall in 50 years; video goes viral

Heavy snowfall in parts of Spain due to Filomena storm has put the country on red alert.

 

Many videos of snow-covered Madrid has gone viral on social media showing how people enjoy the snow and while some show how life has been disrupted.

 

Up to 20 inches of snow fell on Madrid due to the heavy snowstorm, disrupting road, rail and air travel.

 

However, temperatures plunged to -8 degree Celsius due to the storm and have recorded as the heaviest snowfall in 50 years.
