Watch: Indian tricolour being waved at US Capitol riots; viral video leaves netizens confused

A video of Indian tricolour being waved at US Capitol riots is making rounds on social media.

As an exceptional rally by Donald Trump supporters took place to overturn the election result, a violent flag-waving mob rampaged inside Capitol building's offices.

 

Many visuals of violence in US Capitol Hill are making rounds in social media.

 

But what amazed desi netizens is a video of Indian tricolour being waved at US Capitol riots.

 

The video was shared by journalist Alejandro Alvarez on his Twitter handle and, in which a protester can be seen holding the Indian flag.

 

Many showed their displeasure and questioned the presence of the Indian flag in the US riot.

 

BJP leader Varun Gandhi also shared the video and wrote: "Why is there an Indian flag there??? This is one fight we definitely don’t need to participate in..."

 

Rajya Sabha, MP, Priyanka Chaturvedi wrote on her Twitter handle "Whoever is waving this Indian flag should feel ashamed. Don’t use our tricolour to participate in such violent & criminal acts in another country."

 

However, the tricolour's presence was spotted by others also who showed their displeasure towards it.

 

At least four have died on the US Capitol grounds, and 52 people have been arrested so far.
