A video shared by Anand Mahindra on why not to use phones while on the move has gone viral.

The Western Cape government initially shared the viral video montage that shows a few people using their phones while walking on the streets.

Each of them can be seen hitting something or hurting themselves as they were too involved to observe what was in front of them.

The video ends with a bigger message as a woman can be seen texting while driving, and suddenly she gets hit by a vehicle.

Sharing the video, Anand Mahindra wrote, “I can count at least 2 of these which happened to me. From then on I keep my phone securely pocketed when on the move...(thanks for sharing this @ErikSolheim) (sic).”

The video garnered around 2 million views, and people shared their experiences in the comment section.
