According to the Delhi Police officials, a total of 37 male suspects have been questioned at the premises, nine female suspects have been questioned at their respective places of stay and digital devices, documents etc. have been seized/collected for examination.

It is also said that data from laptops and mobile phones owned by the journalists was also collected by the police. NewsClick stands accused of receiving funds from US millionaire Neville Roy Singham for pro-China propaganda within India.

The UAPA Sections invoked in the case include Sections 13, 16, 17, and 18. These sections deal with a range of offenses related to unlawful activities, terrorism, raising funds for terrorist acts, and conspiracy to commit terrorist acts.

Several individuals associated with NewsClick, including the website's editor Prabir Purkayastha, journalists Abhisar Sharma, Aunindyo Chakravarty, and Bhasha Singh, as well as satirist Sanjay Rajaura, have reportedly been subjected to these police raids.

The Delhi Police Special Cell is currently conducting searches as part of a new case, adding to the mounting legal scrutiny faced by NewsClick. This follows an earlier case of money laundering initiated by the Enforcement Directorate.
