Karnataka Election Results 2023: As the counting for the high-stake Karnataka assembly election 2023 began on Saturday, the Congress has directed all of its MLAs to arrive in Bengaluru.

In the 2018 Karnataka Assembly elections, Shettar won from Hubli Dharwad Central constituency after defeating Congress' Mahesh Nalwad by a margin of 21,306 votes. He defeated Nalwad in the 2013 elections by a margin of 17,754 votes.

Karnataka Election Results 2023: The counting of votes polled for the 224-member Karnataka assembly polls began on Saturday, May 13, as parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party, Congress and JD-Secular, wait with bated breath for the verdict. The electoral fortunes of top leaders --  Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai of the BJP, Congress heavyweights Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar, and Janata Dal-Secular's HD Kumaraswamy, among many others will be known today.  

Despite several companies declaring a day off for citizens to exercise their voting rights in the Karnataka Election 2023, Bangalore Urban recorded a voter turnout of only 53.08 per cent.

In the 2018 Karnataka Assembly polls, the state recorded a voter turnout of 72.36 percent. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who is seeking re-election from Shiggaon in Haveri district for a fourth consecutive term, said he would win with a record margin. Bommai said the party would get a "comfortable majority".

The Asianet News-Jan Ki Baat Exit Poll has indicated that on May 13, the Bharatiya Janata Party would emerge as the single largest party.

Voting is underway in poll-bound Karnataka. Amid this, state Congress chief DK Shivakumar was spotted driving an auto rickshaw after casting his vote in the high stakes assembly elections today.

While several voters left for their respective polling stations, many have been watching out for auspicious time, especially some of the candidates. According to various reports, many are likely to skip the 'rahu kaal' time today, which will fall between 12:23 pm and 1:59 pm.
