Speaking to reporters, Khera said, "The prime minister is insulting our faith in Lord Hanuman. He should apologise to the country as he has hurt our religious sentiments. No one has given the prime minister the right to insult Bajrang Bali."

Hitting out at the Congress in a series of tweets, VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal said the party which is being rejected all over the country is day dreaming of banning the Bajrang Dal.

This remark comes after the grand old party launched its poll manifesto in which it committed to take firm and decisive action against individuals and organisations such as Bajrang Dal and the Popular Front of India (PFI) that 'spread hatred' among communities on grounds of caste and religion.

Karnataka Election 2023: Assembly elections in the state is scheduled to be held on May 10. The candidates are leaving no stone unturned to reach all the villages and houses to woo the minds of voters.

The Census of India, 2011, revealed that the estimated literacy level of the district in which this constituency falls is 73.71 percent. In the assembly election held in 2018, the Chitradurga constituency saw a fierce contest between the Congress and the BJP.

The BJP has promised the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, the National Register of Citizens, and three free cooking gas cylinders and half litre Nandini milk every day to all BPL families. It has also announced a slew of measures for developing the state.

The Congress has sounded confident of emerging victorious in Karnataka. Senior Congress leader and former minister MB Patil told news agency that it will come to power on its own with 130-odd seats out of 224 in the southern state.

Asking the Prime Minister to speak about the BJP government's work and future programmes for Karnataka, instead of talking about himself, the former AICC president took a dig at Modi's statement about verbal abuses hurled at him.

During the roadshow, PM Modi was on a specially designed vehicle and reciprocated the greetings by waving to people. People also showered flowers and waved BJP flags along the route as an expression of support.

In a public meeting in Belagavi district bordering Maharashtra, the Congress leader said, "Our party has decided to increase the honorarium up to Rs 15,000 for my sisters in major Anganwadis and Rs 10,000 for women in mini Anganwadis."

PM Modi said that in Karnataka, Congress and JD(S) are pretending to be against each other. "During the 2018 assembly elections, their leaders were abusing each other. However, as soon as the election came to an end, they allied with each other," PM Modi said.

The BJP national president also talked about the reservation issue that stoked controversy in the state, Nadda said that if the reservation of people belonging to the SC community is increased by 2 percent, `then the reservation for the tribal community will be increased by 4 percent.

Karnataka Election 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the crowd in three public meetings which are scheduled at Kolar, Channapatna and Belur. He will also hold a road show in Mysuru, Karnataka on Sunday evening, before leaving the state.

The Congress leader alleged that the BJP ministers in Karnataka collected 40 percent commission for public works from contractors and hence, the party would not get more than 40 seats, while the Congress would win 150 seats and form the next government.

Noting that PM Modi is welcomed across the world with a lot of respect, he said the Congress cannot instigate people with such statements, because the support for the PM will increase, as much as they abuse him.
