Firoz died after a tree was uprooted and collapsed on him in last June during heavy rains BBMP Commissioners promise of Rs 1 lakh compensation not fulfilled yet Family made to run from pillar to post for all these months

Family members of Firoz, who died after a tree was uprooted and collapsed on him in last June have given up any hopes of getting Rs 1 lakh compensation announced by the BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad as the commissioner has no time to talk to the family.

The BBMP had announced a compensation of Rs 1 lakh within 24 hours after the incident on June, but till now the officials are making them run from pillar to post to pay Rs 1 lakh.  Sibgathualla, the younger brother of Firoz, said that BBMP has no shame. "I have visited the BBMP office and even commissioner's office for over dozen times reminding them about the compensation, but the officials are least bothered. Shockingly, even the commissioner has no time for people like, despite submitting letters and other documents, there is no response from the authorities. He and his subordinates are all liars," Sibgathualla said.

Firoz Pasha, 48, died after a huge Indian Cork tree fell on him killing him on the spot during heavy winds on June 27, last year. Hours after the incident, BBMP Commissioner, N Manjunath Prasad, visited the spot and announced a compensation of Rs 1 lakh to be paid within 24 hours. But it has been nine months after the incident, and till now, the family members are made to run from pillar to post by the BBMP to get the compensation.

Firoz was running a midday meal supply business and was on his way to the Malleshwaram Branch office to collect the payment for his work, but died on the spot after a huge tree fell on him due to heavy winds.
