Phase 3 of the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka witnesses a robust turnout of 66.05% by 5 PM, with districts like Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Davangere, and Raichur showing significant participation. Notable incidents include a centenarian's dedication to voting and controversies surrounding politicians like Vinay Kulkarni. Despite minor glitches, overall engagement reflects a strong commitment to democracy.

Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday appealed to the people to reject the proponents of lies and hatred and vote for her party for a "brighter and more equal future" for all.

In Phase 3 of the Lok Sabha elections in Hubballi and Kalaburagi, Karnataka, joint families exhibited remarkable solidarity by turning out to vote. In Hubballi, 69 members of a single-family voted together, while in Kalaburagi, 30 members of another family cast their votes collectively. These heartwarming displays of civic duty highlight the importance of active participation in democracy.

In the third phase of Karnataka's Lok Sabha elections, the voter turnout reached 41.59% by 1 PM, with Chikkodi at 45.68% and Haveri at 43.26%. Despite scorching temperatures, citizens displayed dedication, exemplified by a woman voting despite her husband's death. The battle is mainly between Congress and BJP, with JD(S) supporting BJP.

The EPIC (Electors Photo Identity Card) is a unique alphanumeric code seen on voter IDs. This unique number is used to verify a voter's identification. Polling authorities use this unique identifying code to cross-reference voter data and validate the legitimacy of the submitted voter ID card.

 

On Tuesday, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza were seen voting for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

In Phase 3 of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka, the northern region saw a voter turnout of 9.45% by 9:30 AM. Notable turnouts include Shivamogga at 11.39% and Raichur at 8.27%. Despite challenges like a heatwave alert, the Election Commission ensured smooth polling. In Bagalkote, BJP and Congress candidates vie for victory, with an 8.59% turnout by 9 AM.

The Prime Minister joined hands and sought blessings from her. PM Modi reached Gujarat late Monday night to cast his vote this morning. He was accompanied by Shah at the polling booth.
 

Pink-coloured Sakhi polling booths, aimed at attracting voters, have been set up across Karnataka for the ongoing elections. These booths feature information on various topics like global warming and Togari Kanaj farming. District Collector Fauzia Tarannum visited one such booth in Kalaburagi. Additionally, special efforts, including the construction of pink booths in Belagavi and a youth-built booth in Shivamoga, aim to encourage voter participation.

Speaking to the media after casting his vote at a polling booth in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, PM Modi said, “Today is the third phase of voting. There is great importance of 'Daan' in our country and in the same spirit, the countrymen should vote as much as possible."

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: As polling for phase 3 Lok Sabha elections begins on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged ‘active participation’ of voters to make the polls ‘more vibrant’ today, May 7.

In the third and another crucial phase for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, a total of 93 seats are going to the polls. While a total of 94 seats was to go to the polls in the phase 3, voting was not needed for Surat as the BJP candidate got elected unopposed. 

In 1985, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Shah Bano, granting her maintenance post-divorce, but the Congress government, under Rajiv Gandhi, annulled the decision through parliamentary legislation.

Voting for 25 out of 26 seats in Gujarat is scheduled to take place in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 7. Notably, there will be no voting in Surat as BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal was declared elected unopposed last week.
