Seven months before Uttar Pradesh went to polls – in August 2021 -  Asianet News-Jan Ki Baat Mood of Voters survey had predicted the return of Yogi Adityanath as the chief minister for a second term.

Yogi Adityanath is ahead with massive votes, followed by Samajwadi Party candidate Subhavati Upendra Dutt Shukla and Congress' Dr Chetna Pandey.

In this election battle between Yogi Adityanath versus the rest, Noida is the clear winner.

In a tweet, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya slammed the opposition, and said "the public was winning and hooliganism was losing." Along with this, he has sent out a slew of other tweets in which he said the BJP will win a historic triumph in Uttar Pradesh.

The Uttar Pradesh assembly election verdict has silenced all the critics who doubted whether Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be able to break a nearly four-decade-old jinx and get a second consecutive term in power. 

"Authorised polling agents of the political parties are allowed to come inside the counting centre. There is no question of EVM tampering," said CEC Sushil Chandra.

Yogi Adityanath is set to break a 39-year-old jinx in Uttar Pradesh and return to power for a second term as chief minister. 

Congress paid the price for infighting with the party when the voters handed over power to Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab. The BJP secured comfortable victories in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur. In Goa too, the BJP emerged as the single largest party with 20 seats in the 40-member assembly and is hoping to form the government at the earliest.

"We battled as hard as we could. We'll have to wait and watch what happens," added Vadra, who was heavily involved in the Uttar Pradesh elections.

Exit polls are projecting a win for the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Since last week, thousands of Indians have flown back to the nation on special planes under ‘Operation Ganga’ via Ukraine's neighbouring countries.

According to the ECI, the exit polls will be released only after 6.30 pm once voting in Uttar Pradesh has concluded.

Azamgarh, Mau, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Bhadohi, and Sonbhadra are the districts voting in the final phase. According to Ajay Kumar Shukla, Chief Electoral Officer, all necessary arrangements have been made for free, fair, and transparent voting in the seventh phase.

"Voting on 54 seats in nine districts of Uttar Pradesh will be held tomorrow in the final phase of polling. With the power of their votes, the neglected people facing poverty and unemployment can work to change their fate and the fate of the state," said Mayawati.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also described the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls as “pro-incumbency”, saying the people themselves are fighting for continuation of the government.
