Pathak was the election in-charge of Punjab and Gujarat. He was AAP's surprise pick for Rajya Sabha after Arvind Kejriwal's party registered a thumping victory in Punjab.

In November last year, Amarinder Singh had resigned from the Congress and floated a new party ahead of this year's Punjab elections, before eventually merging it with the BJP earlier this year. Sunil Jakhar quit the party in May.

Late singer Sidhu Moose Wala's wedding was postponed until the end of the year due to the Punjab elections. The singer was about to marry Amandeep Kaur, a Canadian citizen.
 

Captain Amarinder Singh quit Congress after stepping down as Chief Minister last year. Singh then left the Congress to start his own party, months before the Punjab elections. Since then, Singh has been a critic of the Gandhis, holding them accountable for the party's defeat in the assembly elections.

While some criticised Mann for not thinking about the exchequer when he was making lofty election promises, others claimed that the new chief minister had literally demanded 30% of the state's budget as a package from the Centre.

In addition to Harbhajan Singh, the AAP has nominated Raghav Chadha, deputy chairman of the Delhi Jal Board, and Dr. Sandeep Pathak, an IIT professor, to the Upper House of Parliament. Five Rajya Sabha seats in Punjab will become vacant next month, and the deadline to register nominations is Monday.

"Bhagwant Mann will assign a target to each minister, and they will be required to complete the task within a specific time frame. You must labour all hours of the day and night. If your goal is not met, the public might demand that the minister be replaced," Kejriwal said.
 

Earlier, CM Mann stated that he would announce a 'very big decision' that no one has taken in the history of the north Indian state. 
 

Chanting ‘Jo Bole So Nihal’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, Bhagwant Mann thanked the people who attended the swearing-in ceremony.

At the swearing-in venue, thousands of people could be seen sporting yellow (Basanti) colour following a request from Mann. 

Sidhu took to Twitter to share the resignation letter he sent to Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

The Aam Aadmi Party set its eyes on Karnataka that will go to assembly polls in April-May next year. The party has started distributing flyers through newspapers to invite members into the party fold. National Executive Member of the party Prithvi Reddy says in 60 days, assembly wise candidates list will be out.

Mann arrived to the Governor's Office just two days after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won a historic mandate in the recently completed Punjab Assembly elections.Following his meeting with the governor, Bhagwant Mann spoke with the media and confirmed the date of his oath ceremony.

After a historic victory in the state assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party's President Ministerial candidate met with party chief Arvind Kejriwal today for the first time. On March 13, the duo will perform a roadshow in Amritsar.

He asserted that the people have chosen change, and they are never wrong, “The voice of the people is the voice of God. We should understand with humility and bow to it,” when asked how he can say that being the Congress president.
