The police said that two calls were received, which were made by the same caller who is yet to be identified. "Promptly responding to the alarming calls, a team was swiftly deployed to trace the location of the anonymous caller," a senior police official said.

Dismissing the allegations, Sanjay Raut denied any association between the arrested individual and his political party. He clarified that the person apprehended by the police for making threats against him is not a member of his party.

A delegation of NCP workers led by Sharad Pawar's daughter and Lok Sabha member Supriya Sule met Mumbai police chief Vivek Phansalkar demanding action. The NCP leaders told the police that 82-year-old Pawar received a message on Facebook that read "he will meet the same fate as (Narendra) Dabholkar soon".

Wankhede said he will write a letter to the Mumbai police commissioner in this connection and request for special protection. The former NCB chief was questioned by CBI officials in Mumbai on Saturday and Sunday.
