The residents of three houses in Anchuthengu were evacuated as sea attack hit Thiruvananthapuram last night.  The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has warned of the possibility of high tidal waves till May 5.

Rain is anticipated across 11 districts in Kerala, ranging from light to moderate intensity. On May 5, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, and Malappuram are expected to receive rainfall, with additional districts joining on May 6, including Kozhikode and Wayanad.
 

Tanur custodial death case: In a major development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested four accused policemen on Saturday (May 04) in connection with the death of Thamir Jiffri allegedly in police custody in Tanur, Malappuram.

A newborn's body was found on the road by cleaning workers near a residential complex in Vidya Nagar, Panampilly Nagar in Kochi. CCTV footage showed the body being discarded from the complex, wrapped in an Amazon courier cover. The parents of the young woman living in the complex were reportedly unaware of her pregnancy.
 

A woman sought treatment at Kozhikode Medical College's Gynecology Department for abdominal pain and a swollen stomach. Diagnostic tests revealed a uterine tumor, leading to a complex surgical procedure.
 

The police are investigating after the body of a newborn, wrapped in white cloth, was found discarded from a residential complex in Panampilly Nagar, Kochi in Kerala. The residential association reported that no pregnant women were present in the complex.
 

Around 16 regular drivers were transferred for taking collective leave and 4 replacement category drivers were also removed from the service.

The educational institutions including professional colleges will be closed till May 6. The school students are advised to avoid holiday classes from 11 am to 3 pm.

About Rs 132 crores of extra liquor was spent in the state in just two months. At the same time, the sale of beer has decreased in the state by Rs 15 crore.

The Lewes Crown Court sentenced the accused to six years in prison and banned him from driving for 8 years.  The police stated the crash would not have occurred if the accused had been driving within the speed limit.

This spike, 5.4°C above average, prompted a heatwave warning in Tamil Nadu. Nationally, West Bengal and Jharkhand saw alarming temperatures, leading to an Orange Alert. Kerala's government initiated measures, including extended vacations in Palakkad, to cope with the heat.

In a recent incident involving Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran, an altercation ensued between her, her husband Sachin Dev (Balussery MLA), and a KSRTC driver. CCTV footage revealed the Mayor's car crossing a zebra crossing, but the police have yet to file a case against her. The memory card of the CCTV camera in KSRTC bus went missing.

The bus which was used as part of the Nava Kerala Sadas program will operate on Kozhikode-Bengaluru routes from May 5. The bus will have stops at Kozhikode, Kalpetta, Sulthan Bathery, Mysore, and Bengaluru.
