Rescue efforts in Wayanad's Mepadi panchayat will continue on August 6, eight days after devastating landslides. A joint team of military, disaster response, police, and forest officials will search for missing persons, focusing on the remote Soochippara-Pothukallu area with a specialized 12-member task force.

The Kerala government is taking steps to boost the trade and industry sector in the state. Minister P Rajeev said that 2.64 lakh new enterprises have been set up in the state, with an investment of over Rs 16,800 crore and creating 5.6 lakh job opportunities.

200 graves were dug in Puthumala for the mass burial of victims of massive landslides in Wayanad. The funeral rites will be held with prayers from all religions.
