Criticizing the leadership's silence on the Hema Committee report, filmmaker Aashiq Abu on Friday (Aug 30) resigned from Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA). He also cited disagreements with leadership, alleging exploitation and demanding commission from his earnings. 

Despite government efforts to provide relief, some families affected by the recent landslide in Kerala are facing difficulties in accessing aid due to various reasons such as relocating to relatives' homes instead of relief camps, or having damaged shops without immediate compensation.

Two separate incidents of sexual abuse of three and a three-and-a-half-year-old girls by men have been reported in Kozhikode.
