Facebook is now Meta: All about metaverse & its link to American novel Snow Crash
The term ‘metaverse’ appears to have captured the imagination of the tech industry – so much so that formalising Facebook’s focus on the metaverse, CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Thursday (October 28) announced the parent’s company’s name is being changed to ‘Meta’.
The term ‘metaverse’ appears to have captured the imagination of the tech industry – so much so that formalising Facebook’s focus on the metaverse, CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Thursday (October 28) announced the parent’s company’s name is being changed to ‘Meta’.
In a presentation at the company’s annual Connect conference, Zuckerberg said, “We believe the metaverse will be the successor to the mobile internet, we’ll be able to feel present – like we’re right there with people no matter how far apart we actually are.”
