PM Modi's Ayushman Bharat Yojana health scheme gets Sandalwood backing

Many in the film industry and media are not able to afford quality health care. This is precisely why actor-director Roopa Iyer launched an initiative to cover 30,000 members who will get a health card under PM Modi's Ayushman Bharat Yojana. The beneficiary can avail free medical treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh.

It seems like Sandalwood is backing PM Modi's Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which aims at giving financial assistance for medical treatment costs between Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 5 lakh.

Actor-director Roopa Iyer, through her NGO, launched a campaign called Kshema Abhiyan (healthcare awareness) to aid technicians, character artists, helpers in Kannada film industry and many people in media, who cannot afford treatment.

Under this scheme, the person has to furnish an Ayushman Card to avail free medical treatment that would cost between Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. The campaign will take place in Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubballi, Dharwad and other areas. So far 8,000 plus members have been covered and the NGO aims to reach 30,000 members.
