Deve Gowda to Kaavya Sha: Here is how Bengaluru celebrated Yoga Day

Bengaluru witnessed people from all walks of life practicing asanas on the occasion of International Day of Yoga. Here is how politicians, celebrities and the public performed yoga in the city.
 

Bengaluru: Former PM, 86-year-old HD Deve Gowda is a regular yoga enthusiast. Karnataka BJP president BS Yeddyurappa, leader Malavika Avinash and others came out to celebrate Yoga Day by practicing asanas. A mass yoga programme was conducted by health and family welfare department in association with AYUSH department at Kanteerava Stadium, where thousands of people took part in the event. A similar event was also conducted at Manek Shaw Parade Ground, where 8,000 NCC cadets took part in the event. Actress Kaavya Sha also showcased yoga asanas. Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy did not take part in the event, but asked everyone to practice yoga as a way of life. He is in his 'village stay' tour in Yadgir district. Deputy chief minister G Parameshwara and health minister Shivananda Patil took part in the yoga events conducted in Bengaluru.
