Teachers in Bengaluru see no salary for 3 months again, try to catch attention of mayor, BBMP commissioner

The long-standing issue of regular holds on salaries of BBMP teachers surfaced in BBMP head office as hundreds arrived demanding a resolution. However, their efforts did not yield any results as both the mayor and BBMP commissioner were not available.

The agony of BBMP contract teachers continues as the BBMP that suffers from the age-old disease called 'delay' has not paid salaries to teachers since June.

As a result, the teachers who have monthly commitments like house rent, bills for power and water supply, are facing threats from house owners who are looking to evict them.

The teachers wanted to meet the mayor and BBMP commissioner. However, they could not get their issues addressed as both of them were not available. They hope at least on September 5 (Teachers’ Day) their salaries will be given, as BBMP will hold its last meeting of the five-year term.
