Shramik special train ferries 1,552 stranded migrants from Tamil Nadu to Uttar Pradesh

It is the 5th Shramik special train from the southern district, two from Tirunelveli and one each from Tuticorin, Nagercoil  and Madurai in Tamil Nadu

Madurai: Shramik special train carrying 1552 stranded migrants and families left from Madurai railway station on Monday evening and will reach Maunath Banjan junction, Uttar Pradesh on May 20.  

Railway authoriies and health care professionals ensured every passenger was properly screened before boarding the train. Social distancing was also maintained during travel.  During the journey, passengers were provided with food packets and water bottles. The district administration and railways ensured orderly departure of the labourers.
