Punjab cop whose hand was cut off by lockdown violators returns home after surgery

Punjab Police sub-inspector Harjeet Singh was discharged from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research

 

Harjeet Singh, Punjab Police sub-inspector, who was attacked while trying to impose COVID-19 lockdown restrictions has reached home after surgery to reattach his hand that was dismembered. Chief minister Amarinder Singh shared the news of the sub-Inspector's release and expressed gratitude to doctors and healthcare workers who attended to him.

Harjeet Singh was rushed to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) after the attack. The doctors, however, reattached the severed hand after seven hours of complex reconstructive surgery.
