Punjab Congress MLA plans for Sri Harmandir Sahib devotees to eat fish; earns wrath of Sikhs

Congress MLA from Punjab, Harminder Gill, during a function, had said that his government wants to divert Sri Harmandir Sahib devotees towards Harike to make them eat fish. The video went viral on social media and the Sikh community opposed it. Gill tendered his apology through a video message.  
 

Chandigarh: A video of Congress’ Patti (Tarn Taran) MLA Harminder Gill from Punjab made a controversial statement, which went viral on social media. Harminder Gill said that his effort was to divert devotees of Sri Harmandir Sahib towards Harike so that they could eat fish there. It is learnt that Harminder Gill said this during a function pertaining to the allotment of market committee’s chairmanship at Harike. A strong outrage erupted among the Sikh community opposing Gill’s statement. 

Meanwhile, Harminder Gill apologised though a video on social media for his controversial statement. However, in the video, Gill was again seen talking about his government’s plan to attract tourists thronging Sri Harmandir Sahib towards Harike.
