No chartbusters in Bengaluru's top hotel and entertainment spot this New Year
New Year spirts will be down at Bengaluru's top hotel and amusement park, as they bear the brunt for playing music without permission. Some of the top peppy numbers from Yash Raj Films, ZEE Music, EROS, TIPS and others have been barred here for the companies have petitioned the court saying their music are being played without permission or licences for commercial purpose.
Bengaluru's top hotel and entertainment spot are under the scanner for violation of copyrights. ZEE Music, Yash Raj Films, EROS,Red Ribbon and Eros International Media Ltd, Tips, Thinkmusic, Nucleya have moved the Bombay high court against several hotels, resorts and pubs. The places have been either violating the copyright by playing their music without the license or have not secured the licenses to play the same for commercial purpose.
According to Novex Communications Pvt Ltd, a Mumbai based company, ex-parte injunction has been granted against Radisson Blu Atria –Bangalore and Wonderla hotels of Bengaluru, Kochi, Hyderabad.
Novex Communications engaged in the business of licensing public performance rights in sound recordings has filed cases against several pubs, hotels, etc for violation of the copyrights act.
Novex Communication, an authorised firm for Zee Music Company, Yash Raj Films Pvt Ltd, Red Ribbon and Eros International Media Ltd, Tips, Thinkmusic, Nucleya, has moved the Bombay high court against several hotels, resorts and pubs.
The places have been either violating the copyright by playing their music without the license or have not secured the licenses to play the same for commercial purpose.
