Navjot Singh Sidhu's Video Message: 'No compromise; tainted system can't return'
Asserting that had never fought personal battles throughout his political career, Navjot Singh Sidhu said that his fight was over issues concerning the state and its people.
Congress leader Navot Singh Sidhu, who resigned from the post of Punjab unit president, on Wednesday issued a video where he enumerated reasons why he left the post.
Asserting that had never fought personal battles throughout his political career, Sidhu said that his fight was over issues concerning the state and its people.
Sidhu said that he will never compromise with his Punjab-specific agenda and that positions never mattered to him.

Stating that he would never compromise on his ideological stand, Sidhu said that those who gave a clean chit to the Badals in the past have been given responsibilities by the party.
Sidhu also confirmed Asianet Newsable's report that the appointment of APS Deol as state advocate general was the main reason for him stepping down from his post.
Rejecting claims that he had let down the Congress High Command which had reposed faith in him, Sidhu said that he will never mislead the party top brass.

He also said that he was ready to sacrifice anything to ensure that the aspirations of Punjab and its people are fulfilled, but will not sway from his principles.
Targeting the new government led by Charanjit Singh Channi, Sidhu said that the state administration was once characterised by tainted officials and that once again the same system cannot be allowed to return.
Referring to Deol's appointment, Sidhu said, "Those people, who while occupying senior positions, protected and shielded those who took people's lives, cannot be made guardians."
Stating that he was not afraid of the consequences of his actions, Sidhu said it was essential to fight when it came to taking a principled stand. "The collapse of a man's character stems from compromises," he said.
