Karnataka introduces smart kiosks to combat COVID-19
To increase community testing across Karnataka, the state government in association with Wipro GE Healthcare has come up with a smart solution
Bengaluru: The government of Karnataka in collaboration with Wipro GE Healthcare is busy implementing the idea of using smart kiosks for random population - based screening of COVID-19. Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa inaugurated the smart kiosk on Wednesday. This initiative will help address the increasing need for more community testing through a swift, robust and seamless sample collection process. Wipro GE Healthcare, through its CSR efforts, has designed and will install 15 smart kiosks across the state in the next few days.
"Karnataka through its various pro-active measures has been able to control the spread of COVID-19 significantly better than many other states in India. Along with our ongoing measures, we are intensifying our efforts to test more people who may be potential COVID-19 patients," CM BS Yediyurappa said.
