India will soon be home to world’s largest cricket stadium, seating capacity to surpass Melbourne Cricket Ground

India is all set to open the world’s largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with a seating capacity of 1,00,000 spectators  

Ahmedabad: The world’s largest cricket stadium is getting built in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. The Sardar Patel Stadium is being built at a cost of Rs 700 crore and will have a seating capacity of 1,10,000. It has surpassed the Melbourne Cricket Ground, which has a capacity of 1,00,000 people. The Sardar Patel Stadium will open in March 2020. The exhibition match between Asia XI and World XI in March 2020 is likely to be the first match played in the stadium.
