Opposition leader in Andhra Pradesh and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu was detained at the Renigunta Airport by police following the orders from YSRCP government.

As Naidu arrived at the airport at 9:35 am from Hyderabad to reach Tirupati and Chittoor for protest he was stopped. The TDP leaders in Tirupati Municipal Corporation limits allegedly being harassed by the ruling Jagan Reddy government and Naidu was heading to join them. And since he was detained, he squatted on the floor in the airport lobby and protested.

Visibly upset, Naidu can be heard saying he was CM for 14 years and now an Opposition leader and he too knows the fundamental rights.

The helpless police tried to make the leader understand that they were only following 'orders'.

Naidu claimed that he has necessary permission from District Collector to tour, but the police in reply told him since the Model Code of Conduct and Covid-19 restrictions are in place, they will not allow him to tour and at the same time told they have no communication from District Collector's office about his tour and hence cannot allow him to go ahead and denied him permission to leave the airport.

The video of Naidu squatting in the airport lobby as a protest is going viral.
