Farmer sets Tahsildar on fire for delaying registration of land

A lady Tahsildar in the Abdullapurmet Tahsil office in Ranga Reddy district was set ablaze by a farmer on Monday (November 4). According to sources, a farmer entered the office, argued with the Tahsildar, poured kerosene on her and set her ablaze. The victim, Vijaya Reddy, died soon after. Two staff in the office who tried to save her were also injured in the incident.

Police have identified the accused as Suresh, a farmer from Gowrelli village of Hayathnagar Mandal. It is reported that the officer had delayed the registration of the farmer’s land.
After over half-an-hour, the conversation between the two turned into a massive argument, before it escalated further and resulted in the death of Vijaya Reddy
