‘Encyclopedia of Forest’ Tulasi Gowda among Padma Shri 2020 awardees

Tulasi Gowda, who is known as the Encyclopedia of Forest, is now nearing 74. She retired from her government position, but continues with her efforts
 


Bengaluru: The government of India announce the Padma awards every year on the eve of Republic Day. Tulasi Gowda, known as the ‘Encyclopedia of Forest’, has worked hard towards afforestation efforts in her surroundings. She is also one of the awardees of  Padma Shri 2020. She has been previously complimented several times by the Karnataka state and others, for her environmental contributions in the district.

According to reports, she has single-handedly planted more than 1,00,000 trees in Ankola taluk, which is situated in Coastal Karnataka. Her knowledge of plants is uncountable, which she used during her job in the forest department. She is now nearing 74 and has retired from her government position. However she continues with her efforts.
