Elephant stabs its mahout during temple festival in Kerala

The injured mahout was first taken to the nearest private hospital in Kerala, where he succumbed to injuries.

An elephant killed its mahout, a 42-year-old man after it ran amok during a temple festival in Kerala's Irijalakkuda. The deceased is identified as Nandan, a native of Palakkad.

The elephant, Sreekrishnan, turned violent during a ceremony at Kizhthani Temple. The violent elephant stabbed its mahout and ran through the private property near the temple and even destroyed the plantain farming in the neighbouring area.
