Chittoor: Jallikattu kicked off at Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh. Jallikattu is banned, but the majority of villages in Andhra Pradesh observed the bull-taming event.

Jallikattu is a bull-taming sport, which is more prevalent in Tamil Nadu, which shares its border with Kuppam of Andhra Pradesh. Jallikattu was banned by the Supreme Court on May 7, 2014. However, the ban could not be implemented effectively due to the overwhelming public support for the traditional sport.
