New Delhi: Section 144 has been imposed in Khajuri Khas and Bhajanpura areas of Northeast Delhi. Security has been tightened in the area. At least ten people have lost lives in clashes between pro and anti-CAA protestors in the area. There has been massive loss of property as several vehicles, shops and petrol pump were also ablaze. Stone pelting started last week between the two groups. Over 100 people have been wounded in the clashes. While speaking in the national capital on February 25, BJP MP from East Delhi, Gautam Gambhir held provocative speeches responsible for triggering violence and also condemned party leader Kapil Mishra. He said, “The violence is unacceptable and strict action should be taken against the culprits. The leaders from Congress, AAP and BJP who are giving provoking speeches should be held accountable and strict action should be taken against them. Whatever is happening is really unfortunate.”  “It (violence) was planned to tarnish the image of India internationally as Donald Trump is on his 2-day India visit. If they (protestors) have doubt over CAA then they should talk to government as the govt is ready to clear all their doubts,” Gautam Gambhir added. “Any politician from any party including, BJP’s Kapil Mishra are not allowed to give provoking speeches and strict action should be taken against him. People of Delhi want to live in peace,” BJP MP further stated.
