Bengaluru students try to make up for BBMP neglect, take up Ulsoor lake cleaning drive

Students took up a cleaning drive at the iconic Ulsoor lake in Bengaluru and cleared plastic, weeds from surrounding pathways. Their act received much appreciation from mayor Gautham Kumar Jain and wife of former Union minister, late HN Ananth Kumar.

With Ulsoor lake lying in shambles surrounded by plastic waste, weeds, it was high time that a civic authority looked into it. But it was few students of Center for Management Studies, Jain Group on Institutions took up a cleaning drive and cleared plastic waste and weeds from the lake premises.

The weekends that are dedicated by the BBMP to invite NGOs, corporates, colleges, and institutions to dedicate their time under the Jal Shakthi Abhiyan and Swachh Bharath Abhiyan was utilised by CMS students and Yuva Ignited Minds, a youth organisation with an aim to restore the lake premises.

Students together cleared about two tractor loads of waste and weeds from Ulsoor lake.
