Bengaluru municipality makes heads turn on New Year with its initiative to save 83 trees

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) that was being criticised for lack of commitment towards the environment, has just done the unthinkable on New Year as it has translocated 83 trees at one go saving them from being axed otherwise.

The huge trees in Corps of Military Police - MG Road was posing a problem for development. To ensure the greenery does not take a beating, the BBMP commissioner and his team of tree experts decided to translocate the trees to the conducive atmosphere.

The officials are monitoring the health of translocated trees.
