By the end of march, BBMP will be able to provide a solution to commuters and many software professionals in outer city limits who struggle to find hygienic toilets. Now, 400 new toilets will come up and many will be placed on the outer ring road. These toilets will be equipped with solar panels and also will use tertiary water supply for flushing.

BBMP will come up with 400 new toilets in and around the city. The civic authority will invest Rs 25 crore for new toilets that will have solar panels and use tertiary water supply from BWSSB.

Since there were complaints of existing toilets in core area not being maintained well and illegal activities being conducted in the facility, BBMP will demolish such structures or remodel them by inviting fresh tenders. To ensure the new toilets function well, the BBMP will not release any payment in advance and will pay the contractors at the end of the financial year following an inspection of such toilets.
