Viral video shows DMK leader insulting women, talking of bribing voters

DMK's KN Nehru, contesting from the Tiruchirapalli West assembly constituency, had recently been the face of another controversy wherein he was accused of bribing police personnel in the constituency.

In a major embarrassment for the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, party leader and Trichy West candidate KN Nehru has been caught on tape using filthy language against women and talking about election bribes.

In the video that went viral on social media, a DMK worker is heard claiming that the AIADMK was paying voters Rs 500 each in the Musiri constituency.

The discussion is alleged to have taken place at the DMK party office at Musiri in Tamil Nadu's Tiruchirappalli district.

When Nehru is told that the DMK can do the same, Nehru allegedly slams the worker saying that if the other side indulges in something (insults women), would he do the same? He allegedly says that distributing Rs 200 to voters is enough.

After the video went viral, police booked the DMK leader under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 294 (foul language in public places), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), 161 (e) and 161 (h) and Section 67 (Punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the IT Act.
