Watch Cheteshwar Pujara hit training grounds at Southampton ahead of ICC World Test Championship final

Team India has already reached Southampton ahead of the ICC World Test Championship final. The Indians are currently undergoing a ten-day quarantine at the venue’s on-site hotel. Meanwhile, three players since Day 3 have been allowed to begin training.

The ICC World Test Championship 2019-21 final is 12 days away. As a result, Team India is leaving no stones unturned to get its preparations underway and stay match-ready when the day arrives.

The Indians arrived in Southampton on Thursday morning and were put on a rigid quarantine in the Hilton hotel at the on-site venue. However, mild relaxation was made for them, as three players since Day 3 were allowed to begin training. Nevertheless, they are still not allowed to meet each other and each player trained individually.

On Day 3, veteran Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara hit the training grounds of the venue. In a video uploaded on his Instagram story, Pujara is seen running back and forth in the main playing field at the venue while he captioned it “Golden Hour” and “Let’s go”.

Both the men’s and women’s team are currently quarantining at the same venue. They would also be allowed to use the gymnasium, but at a designated time, individually.

As of now, every player has been provided with essential equipment to help themselves exercise during their room quarantine. While the room quarantine is likely to be over in the next few days, they would be allowed to train in small groups at the practice ground, adjacent to the main ground.
