South African wicketkeeper-opener Quinton de Kock has shocked the world for a controversial decision and reason. On Tuesday, he did not participate in his side's Super 12 game of the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup against defending champion Windies in Dubai. It was revealed that he had refused to follow a Cricket South Africa (CSA) directive.

CSA had issued a directive for every player to take the knee in support of the Black Live Matter (BLM) movement, being followed by every side in the tournament and worldwide. However, de Kock was against it and decided to pull out of the Windies tie, while he is yet to explain his decision.
