BCCI president Sourav Ganguly meets NCA chief Rahul Dravid in Bengaluru
Saurav Ganguly along with NCA officials also visited the proposed land for building a new NCA facility at Devanahalli on the outskirts of Bengaluru
Bengaluru: BCCI newly-elected president Sourav Ganguly held a meeting with National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief Rahul Dravid in Bengaluru for a crucial discussion on NCA infrastructure in the city. The two former Indian team captains met at the Chinnaswamy Stadium where NCA is now situated and reviewed a road map to take the academy to a new level. Saurav Ganguly along with NCA officials also visited the proposed land for building a new NCA facility at Devanahalli on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
The BCCI has got an additional 15 acres of land from the Karnataka government for setting up the Centre of Excellence near the international airport here, taking the total area of the facility to 40 acres. For over a couple of years now, the BCCI has been planning to find an alternate location to build the NCA with state-of-the-art facilities.
The current NCA is situated adjacent to the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and has been criticised for becoming just a ‘rehab centre’.
