Lockdown: Police raid arrack-making unit, destroy barrels, arrest one

Based on a tip-off, Gajendragad Police in North Karnataka raided an arrack-making unit in Byrapura lake area and caught one of the two person supplying arrack to villagers amid lockdown. The police destroyed the arrack barrels.

Bootleggers are trying to make use of the lockdown. However, the police was able to trace the location of an arrack-making unit, and even arrested an accused and destroyed the arrack barrels.

The incident happened at Byrapura lake point at Gajendragad Police limits in North Karnataka on Sunday. The police destroyed the arrack barrels by setting them on fire and arrested 50-year-old Ramappa Krishnappa Rathod, while 55-year-old Tulajappa Pammar escaped.
