Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the annual flower show that used to attract over 5 lakh visitors, is cancelled. This is only the third time in its history that there is no flower show

Bengaluru: The famed annual flower show at Bengaluru’s Lal Bagh will not be held this month (August) due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The flower show is held twice every year, during Republic Day and Independence Day.

The preparation for the show begins at least five months in advance. However, due to the pandemic enforced lockdown from March, the Lal Bagh authorities could not start preparations. As per the information, the show was cancelled twice earlier during the second World War and plague outbreak.
