Come September 1, employers will be penalised if their staff not vaccinated: BBMP
As the Bengaluru district administration has managed to get 1 crore population vaccinated in Bengaluru urban district, the Bengaluru Bruhat Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has now come with an even more stringent rule for vaccination of all, especially workers and staff in private companies and industries.
Randeep Dev, Special Commissioner, BBMP stressed that in case the staff during marshal raid at private offices, hotels and industries find the staff not vaccinated from September 1, it will impose a penalty on its employer.
He contended that, as owner, it becomes a responsibility to get staff vaccinated. First, the BBMP will impose a penalty, later if the employer fails to adhere to BBMP's direction, then the place will be closed down.
The measures are taken as experts have hinted at Covid 3rd wave striking somewhere in September end. The BBMP also has reported declining of its containment areas from over 131 to 90 in the last few days and with vaccination and stricter implementation of Covid norms like wearing a face mask, restriction on gathering, it wants to suppress the spread.
Meanwhile, the police also has given a new direction to ensure the travellers coming from Kerala will be subjected to one-week quarantine even if they produce a Covid negative certificate. This decision comes in the backdrop of God's own country's Covid model going up in smoke.
