Starting May 1, 2025, ATM usage in India is set to become more expensive as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) hikes charges for transactions beyond the free limit. Withdrawal fees will increase from ā¹21 to ā¹23 per transaction, while balance inquiries will now cost ā¹7. Customers still get five free transactions at their own bankās ATMs and three (or five in non-metro areas) at other banks' ATMs. So what's the alternative?
