Bhaskar Shetty murder accused arrive in air conditioned private vehicle to attend court proceedings

Do Bhaskar Shetty murder accused Rajeshwari Shetty and her son Navneet Shetty continue to get 'VIP' treatment by the police? Apparently yes. The duo who were expected to attend court proceedings in Mangaluru were brought in a private vehicle, instead of the police vehicle, clearly violating the rules. According to Suvarna News, Rajeshwari Shetty and Navneet Shetty arrived in an air-conditioned Innova car to the court premises, and it is not clear whether the police accompanied them in the car or came in their own vehicle. The 'VIP treatment' being extended to the murder accused has raised several eye brows.

In fact, this was not the first time that the accused were given such royal treatment by the police. Earlier too, the Udupi police were accused of taking the murder accused to a bar-attached Forever restaurant in Nitte and were reportedly allowed to take rest for over two hours, during the investigation process. Earlier too, it was reported that the investigating officer in the sensational murder case had given up his front seat in the police vehicle so as to allow Navneet Shetty to sit, while he took the back seat.

Hotelier Bhaskar Shetty was allegedly murdered by his wife Rajeshwari Shetty along with their son Navneet Shetty in a gruesome manner. The duo with the help of priest Niranjan Bhat Asranna had assaulted and poisoned him before setting his body on fire. Later, the accused had allegedly disposed of the ashes and bone pieces in a river nearby in an effort to destroy the evidence. However, following a missing complaint by Bhaskar Shetty's mother, the gruesome murder came to light. The trio is in Mangaluru prisons and the investigation is on.

A few weeks ago, Rajeshwari Shetty had knocked on the Supreme Court doors seeking bail. But the Apex Court had flatly rejected her plea.
