The Tokyo Olympics has already lit up the world, presenting some of the best sporting actions across verticles. While the global extravaganza possesses various sporting events, it lacks some top sports, including cricket.

However, that has not barred the cricketers from taking part in the Olympics. In the same light, we present five cricketers who have their names etched in the history books of the Olympics.

Chuni Goswami
The Indian footballer also happened to be a First-Class cricketer. He played for the Indian football team during the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, finishing fourth. He also helped the side win the gold during the Asian Games. Later, he switched to cricket, playing for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy between 1962-73 and also leading the side, scoring 1,592 runs in 46 games.

Alastair McCorquodale
The Scottish athlete was also a cricketer who played just five FC matches for Marylebone Cricket Club, claiming four wickets. However, he was a part of Great Britain's athletics team during the 1948 London Olympics. He won the silver in the 4x100m relay.

John Cockett
He is another British FC cricketer who played for Cambridge University in 1951, scoring 311 runs in eight matches. However, he later switched his focus to hockey and played for GB at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics and Melbourne 1956. He had won the bronze with the side in 1952.

Ian Dick
The Australian hockey player was also a cricketer who played just an FC match, scoring 27 runs. However, he became a hockey player later and played in Melbourne in 1956, where he led the side and helped it won the gold.

David Acfield
He happens to be a British fencer and an FC cricketer. He featured in the 1968 and 1972 Games but failed to win a medal. However, he did win the gold during the British Commonwealth Games 1970. Later, he decided to take up cricket full time and had a glorious career, claiming 950 wickets across 420 FC and List-A matches, but the off-spinner was never considered for England selection.
