Namma Bengaluru Foundation honours city's unsung heroes for exemplary work
The tenth edition of Namma Bengaluru Awards was held on April 27 where the Namma Bengaluru Foundation felicitated the city's unsung heroes
Bengaluru: In the tenth edition of Namma Bengaluru Awards (NBA), four people who were instrumental in the rescue operations of two Surya Kiran pilots who crashed during a practice session for the Aero India 2019 show in February were among those honoured by the Namma Bengaluru Foundation (NBF) on Saturday for their exemplary contribution.
Uday Kumar, Shiva Kumar, Chetan Kumar BM and Prajwal HK rushed to the rescue of the pilots after two Surya Kiran jets collided in mid-air.
The Foundation felicitated unsung heroes with Namma Bengaluru Awards for their exemplary contribution to the city.
In its 10th edition, NBF, founded by BJP Rajya Sabha member Rajeev Chandrasekhar, recognised six Bengalureans in addition to few other individuals.
Former chief justice of India Justice MN Venkatachaliah was the chief guest for the event, which was themed "Awakened, Aware, Active, Informed and Determined citizens can create change."
The awards were given to history and stone inscription enthusiast Udaya Kumar, Karnataka Forest Department officer Ravindra Kumar N, co-founders of Swachha Eco Solutions Rajesh Babu and Victoria Joslin D'Souza and Smita founder Meghana Murthy.
Ashok Kamath of Akshara Foundation was honoured with the "Namma Bengalurean of the Year" award.
